From O’Higgins to Puerto Montt, the Ruta 7, better known as Carretera Austral, runs across South of Chile over 1350 km. This road is very popular among travellers due to its magnificent landscape.
Since we liked the the Fitz Roy track so extraordinarily much, we decide to explore the area around El Chalten a little bit further. At night, the wind is so strong that the deafening noise of the flying canvas lets us hardly sleep.
After we managed to avoid the corrupt police checkpoint, we want to get to the south quickly, so that we get there while it is still “warm”. Like in Uruguay, it is also difficult to find wildcamping spots in Argentina, because all land is fenced along the streets.
There is a strange feeling connected to the thought of saying goodbye to everyone you love and everything you’ve known without knowing when you will return. A bittersweet taste of letting all things go for living under constant uncertainty.
The name of our blog is underlining the objective of our project: to travel the world combining both of our big passions: riding motorcycle and hiking.
